Abdulla is a Trainee Solicitor in the Regulatory & Government Advisory practice in Abu Dhabi. In this capacity, he has conducted research on international taxation matters at the government level, assisted in legislative review projects, and contributed to benchmarking exercises on data protection and compliance with international standards. His experience also includes advising on export control laws for strategic goods, preparing entity-specific tax treatment advice, and advising on the enforcement powers and remedies available to financial regulators under applicable legislation, including recovery of public funds, precautionary measures, and administrative penalties.
During his time in the Dispute Resolution practice, Abdulla contributed to a wide range of contentious matters. These included assisting in a cross-border debt recovery dispute involving syndicated loans, financial crime cases, tax-related disputes, and contributing to favourable outcomes in high valued property disputes. He has also been involved in employment disputes and bankruptcy proceedings within the UAE.
Prior to joining Hadef, Abdulla underwent his studies in Durham University where he engaged in multiple Law societies such as Durham law, and the Mooting society.
In terms of his qualifications, Abdulla is an LLB graduate from Durham University, currently undergoing his LPC training with the University of Law, with plans to enroll in the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy in the near future. He is currently completing his training contract in order to qualify as a solicitor of England and Wales.
Abdulla is fluent in English and Arabic.
