Erik leads Hadef’s Maritime, Transport & Trade practice. He acts for major international, UAE and GCC brand names on contentious and non-contentious matters. He has earned a reputation for a responsive and commercially sensitive approach.

 

Erik has extensive specialist experience in all matters related to shipping, aviation, insurance, international transport and trade, as well as trade and ship finance.

 

He commenced his legal training at one of South Africa’s largest specialist maritime law firms and continued to work in private practice throughout his career in several jurisdictions. International associations such as the IBA, regularly invite Erik to speak on topical issues.

 

Fluent in English, German and Afrikaans, Erik completed his legal training in South Africa and is admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
