Adrian has 25 years experience of handling shipping and international trade matters as well as general commercial litigation/arbitration disputes. He has considerable experience of shipping finance, newbuilding and vessel repair and sale/purchase transactions. Adrian commenced his career in London with Horrocks & Co. a specialist shipping and international trade law firm. In 1989 he joined Clyde & Co. and after three months transferred to its Hong Kong office.

 

In 1993 Adrian moved to the Hong Kong associate office of a Canadian law firm to set up a maritime law department. He returned to London and rejoined Waterson Hicks (formerly Horrocks & Co.) in December 1995 where he stayed for over 12 years. Adrian moved to Dubai to join Hadef & Partners in February 2008 where in addition to shipping and international trade matters, he handles a wide range of general commercial disputes involving litigation or arbitration proceedings.

 

Adrian was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 1987. In addition he was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong (1990), as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Australian Capital Territory (1993) and as a Barrister of the High Court of Australia (1993). He is also registered as a Legal Practitioner of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts and has appeared several times as an advocate before these Courts. Adrian has been appointed as an Arbitrator by the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).
