Dubai Arbitration Week took place in November bringing together arbitration practitioners from across the globe with an extensive programme of events.
The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators conference on 13 November 2016 opened the week with a keynote address by Vincent Moran QC of Keating Chambers on "Turbulent and troublesome tribunals and the appearance of bias" and panel discussion on "What makes an effective and efficient seat in international arbitration?". Melissa Quai Currie, Partner, Dispute Resolution from Hadef & Partners was a panelist. This interesting panel discussion was moderated by Ravindar Bhullar (Partner, Nabarros). In addition to Melissa, the other panelists were Anneliese Day QC (Fountain Court Chambers, London) and Alex Freeman (Counsel, Nabarro).
Melissa also spoke as a panelist at the Third Global Arbitration Review (GAR) Dubai conference held on 16 November on the hot topic of "The Use of Guerrilla Tactics In Middle Eastern Arbitration".
Attracting an ever growing number of practitioners from around the world, Dubai Arbitration Week consolidates Dubai's position as an arbitration hub and the main centre for the resolution of commercial disputes in the Middle East.
